Don’t have any bread crumbs to coat your vegetarian steaks or choplets? There’s no need to run to the store when you have this recipe. Adjust the seasonings according to your taste (such as pepper or cajun seasoning for a kick) and make extra to store in your refrigerator.

Breading Meal

2 c. flour (white or whole wheat)
3/4 c. nutritional yeast flakes
2 t. salt
1/4 c. dried parsley
2 t. garlic powder
3/4 c. cornmeal

Stir ingredients and store in an airtight container. Yields 4 cups.

Mock Whipped Cream

Mock Whipped Cream

½ cup milk
2½ Tbsp. flour

Cook together until thick. Let cool.

In another pan or bowl:

¼ cup butter
¼ cup shortening
½ cup sugar

Beat well. Add milk/ flour mixture and 1 tsp vanilla. Beat until fluffy.
