Pecan pie is one of those treats I enjoy every once in a while. I’m usually the “fresh fruit pie type.” That being said, this is probably the best pecan pie I ever tasted and since my husband loves it, I asked his Aunt Sis for the recipe. I believe the secret that makes it rise above the others is the maple syrup.

Pecan Pie

3 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. maple syrup
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/2 t. salt
1 c. pecan halves
1 unbaked pastry shell

In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until smooth. Add syrup, butter, salt, and pecans. Mix and pour filling into unbaked pastry shell. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
