Nothing beats the summer heat like an ice cold glass of lemonade! This recipe is one I found years ago and is SOOO much better than that powdered stuff. Just sipping it reminds you of sitting on a old porch in the summertime as neighbors stroll by arm in arm. If this old fashioned lemonade doesn’t take you down memory lane, I don’t know what will.
1/2-3/4 cup sugar
1 cup hot tap water
2 cups cold water
Pour sugar into a pretty pitcher. Add the hot tap water to the sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Squeeze the juice from the lemons. Add the lemon juice, the cold water, and the ice cubes to the sugar/water mixture. Stir to combine. May garnish with lemon slices on the rim of each glass.
*May use 1/2 cup bottled lemon juice in the place of the lemons if none are available but it is tastier fresh.
